How to Install and Renew JMP Pro

First, download the file and unzip folder on desktop to install. Second, you must download the SID file. Finally, during launch you must correctly choose the downloaded license SID file.

Instructions:

Campus Software Library link

   Step 1: Access Software Library
Login here (hyperlink)
Enter Net ID and password
Choose JMP Pro (latest version), then choose an installer that matches your computer software
Step 2: Initiate JMP Installation
Installer file will appear in the "downloads" folder
Click "show in folder", the place on desktop for easy accessibility
File will show as "JMP_13_Win" (this may vary depending on your computer software and JMP program choice)
   Step 3: Unzip Downloaded JMP File
Fight click on the desktop file
Click 7-zip
Click "extract files..."
Enter system username when prompted
Wait for extraction process
An unzipped file duplicates on the desktop blue "Z" insignia
File is now accessible for installation
   Step 4: Choose Location for Zip File Extraction
Desktop may be most convenient
   
   Step 5: Locate .Exe Installation File
Enter the unzipped desktop file labelled "JMP_13_win"
Navigate unzipped file to access "setup.exe" file
C:/Users/username/Desktop\JMP_13_win.zip\JMP_13\JMP_Pro\13_1\Windows\
This step varies by operating system, program choice, and file setup
Double click on the "setup.exe" file
If this file is not available or opens as a text file, refer to "unzip step"
  Step 6: "Install Shield Wizard" Installation Options
Allow computer to make changes to your device
   Step 7: Install
Choose destination folder
Select Install
Wait up to 10 minutes for installation to take place
If desired, check boxes to create a desktop shortcut and check for software updates
Step 8: Run JMP as Admin
Locate JMP icon on desktop or in files, right click
Click "run as administrator"
License Error: "Your license for JMP expired on...."
Now, you must either renew or establish a license agreement by downloading a SID file from the campus software library
Hit "cancel" and close JMP launch options window temporarily
   Step 9: Get to "Open License" Screen in JMP Launch Options
   Step 10: Renew or Establish JMP License
Return to the campus software library and login here
Navigate to JMP page
Download SID file
Select "SID file 2018-2010 - JMP"
Show in folder, click and drag to desktop for easy access
   
   Step 11: Launch JMP as Admin
IMPORTANT: if you do not launch the program as an admin, you will reach an error
Left click on desktop icon and select "run as admin"
Return to "your license for JMP has expired on...error"
Click "open license"
Navigate to "downloads>JMP_SID_2018-2019" to locate SID file downloaded form software library site
   Step 12: Select Appropriate License File
In my case, I will select a file that matches with "13_1" because that's the program I downloaded
I am using a Windows operating system
If I were downloading JMP 14, I would clearly select a different file showing the correct version number
Unfortunately, this process isn't perfect and you may need to repeat this step until you locate the correct file type
   Step 13: Admin Name
You may leave this field blank
   Step 14: Success Licensing!
   Step 15: Registration
This box redirects you online to do further registration
This is unnecessary and will not inhibit your use of the program if you don't complete

 Step 17: Launch!(Make sure you do so under Admin)

  • FAQ + Troubleshooting
    • If you cannot access or find the “setup.exe” file, make sure you have unzipped the downloaded file correctly according to the instructions
      • If unzipped, the file will no longer show the “blue Z” insignia in the top right of the desktop icon
    • “Your JMP License has expired” error or other License issues
      • Right click on the desktop icon and click “run as administrator”
