Cisco Webex Teams- Adding a Webex meeting from Webex Teams group space
Each space created in Webex Teams has it's own meeting URL. You can see this by clicking on the waffle icon in the upper right corner. Click on Meetings.
This document describes how to add an audio (over computer) and video meeting to an existing group space in Webex Teams.
This space will show the meeting URL and video address associated with this space.
The meeting link never changes so it is similar to "personal meeting room" except it is for this group space.
All members in the space can schedule and start a meeting in the space. There is no dedicated host. Anyone in the space can start a meeting at any time by clicking the CALL button.
Doing this will start the meeting and notify other space members in their Webex Teams client.
Clicking Create Meeting Invite opens a calendar invite in Outlook with all the space members in the TO list and the meeting details in the body.
Note: This is not using Webex Meetings tool that connects your Outlook to Webex Meetings. (formerly called productivity tool). Webex Teams is just launching Outlook and pre-populating an invite with the space details.
Everything described above works the same for external (non-UW) Webex Teams users that are members of the space.
Non-Webex Teams users can also join the meeting using the link in a browser. The experience would be similar to a guest joining a personal room.
As long as at least one UW Webex user is a member of the space the meeting capabilities will persist- even if the original creator leaves the space or their account is deleted.
I would suggest the creator assign one or more other users as moderators to the space so membership could be modified if the creator's account was deleted.
The major drawback to this feature currently is that the meeting MUST BE started from the Webex Teams client by clicking the green Start with Video button. There is not an option to dial the toll number to start the meeting.
Once the meeting is started, the toll number can be used to join the meeting.
