WiscWeb - Array errors

This document will provide you with some information on why you are receiving an array error, what it looks like, and how to fix it.

The error starts with the text "Error: Array."

Background

The array error message is displayed at the top of the webpage when a Gravity Forms form is submitted but failed to send.

There are a few reasons you could be seeing the array error and both have to do with the setup of the Gravity Form.

Issue #1: Wrong 'from' email

The wrong "From Email" is listed in the Notification Settings for that form.

  1. In the Dashboard, navigate to Forms
  2. Hover over your form and choose Settings>Notifications
  3. Hover over the Notification and click Edit to edit your Notification
  4. In the From Email field, type "noreply@email.wiscweb.wisc.edu" (without the quotation marks)
  5. Click on the blue Update Notification button to save your changes
  6. Repeat these steps for each form in your form list

Issue #2: Multiple email addresses in BCC field

Some users have identified seeing this issue when they use multiple email addresses (separated by commas) in the BCC field of the Notifications Settings.

  1. In the Dashboard, navigate to Forms
  2. Hover over your form and choose Settings>Notifications
  3. In the BCC field, check to see if you have multiple email addresses listed
  4. Remove the email addresses from the BCC field and create new notifications for each person or email listed

Tips/troubleshooting

  • If you have more than one notification for your form, including a Save and Continue notification, you will need to update the From Email field in each one. Failure to do so will still cause an array error on your page.

  • If the From Email field on your form is not listed as noreply@email.wiscweb.wisc.edu, your forms will not send an email submission.
