Signing In to View Institutional Tableau Workbooks

Users of UW-Madison's institutional Tableau workbooks may need to sign in to UW-Madison's Tableau server before viewing a workbook. This KB article explains how.

How to Sign In to View Tableau Workbooks

Some Tableau workbooks prompt users to sign in to UW-Madison's Tableau server before viewing a workbook. To do so:

  1. Click on a link to go to the Tableau workbook. This link could be shared with you by the workbook's developer, found on a UW-Madison department page, or found in RADAR (UW-Madison's Repository of Administrative Dashboards and Reports).

  2. You will arrive at this landing page. Select "UW-Madison" in the dropdown.

  3. Sign in using your NetID and password.

  4. Note: If you receive an error message after logging in, you may not have the appropriate permission to view the workbook. Error messages can include Resource Not Found or Page Could Not Be Accessed. Follow these steps to request access to the workbook:

    1. Go to RADAR

    2. Find the workbook.

    3. Click Request Access on the far-right side of the page.
