Class Roster Information Service (CRIS) - Service Description

This document gives an overview of the Class Roster Information Service (CRIS).

Background

The Class Roster Information Service allows applications to access some ISIS data via web services and the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). ISIS data of interest is copied into the Curricular Hub (CHUB) data store periodically, and the CRIS web services will access the data there instead of directly from ISIS.

The DoIT Help Desk supports the underlying CRIS system used to supply data to the applications. Authorization is required to use the CRIS services. If you need authorization for CRIS, please go to https://crisauthorization.wisc.edu and follow the instructions on the page. If you are an application administrator and have determined that there is a problem with CRIS, please contact the Help Desk.

Support Conditions

Application administrators may contact the DoIT Help Desk to report problems.

Developers interested in accessing CRIS data with their application should contact the Help Desk for more information.

Availability

CRIS is available 24x7.

Applications using CRIS may schedule their own downtime.
