Campus Active Directory - Changing your OU Administrator account password

Active Directory OU administrators can change their password from any Windows machine joined to Campus Active Directory domain and connected to the campus network.

The machine you perform the password change from must be joined to the Campus Active Directory domain, and if mobile must be connected directly to the campus network or VPN service.

Note: Most computer labs will have the features needed to perform this operation disabled, so the password change will need to be done on a personal workstation.

Windows 7/8/8.1/10:

  1. Log into a Windows workstation.

  2. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Click Change a Password...

  3. Enter your Active Directory OU admin username prepended with the domain and the current password. Enter your new desired password twice. Click the arrow icon to change the password.

    Important: If you are attempting to change the password for your NetID account, you cannot change your password here. You must use the NetID Account Modification Tool to change your NetID's password.

    Important: Passwords can only be changed every 24 hours for account security.

Older Windows Versions: The above screenshots are taken from Windows 7 and 10. The instructions still apply to Windows 8/8.1 and versions before Windows 7, but there may be subtle changes to the field names and buttons.
