Cost Chart for Transcripts:
Current Students: Official Transcripts can be requested in the Academics section of your Student Center.
Former Students: Students who graduate after May 2011 will retain NetID eligibility for two years in order to access the Student Center.
Students who graduated between 1978 and May 2011 can request transcripts through http://myinfo.wisc.edu. You can log in with your 10 digit ID number and PIN. You will be in an application called "Student Center." In the "Academics" section of Student Center, click on the link entitled "My Academics". Then click on the link entitled "Order Official Transcripts." You will be re-directed to the Office of the Registrar's website to finish the transcript request. Much of your data will be imported from Student Center, making this the fastest and preferred method for former students to request official transcripts.
You may also use the non-authenticated form at http://ordertranscript.wisc.edu. Requests made with the non-authenticated form will take longer to process.
Non-authenticated Students: Students with records prior to second semester 1978 must request official transcripts through http://ordertranscript.wisc.edu. Follow the directions for in the link "Place an order without logging in or using a paper form."
For those who do not wish to order transcripts online, a mail-in option is available or you can go to the Office of the Registrar in person.
**Official transcripts are printed on security paper with the official University of Wisconsin-Madison seal as well as the signature of the Registrar. The security paper will render the official transcripts void if they are photocopied, scanned, or faxed and have watermark safety mechanisms.**
Official transcripts cost $10, with an added charge for express delivery.
"Unofficial transcripts" are also known as student records. Along with course information, student records include student memorandum (e.g., disciplinary information, grade changes) and are not printed on official transcript paper.
An unofficial transcript can be obtained in the following ways:
- Request them online by clicking the "Request Student Record" link in the Student Center (via MyUW or My Info).
- Request them from the department office.
- Request them from the Registrar's office.
Unofficial transcripts are free of charge.
