MARC export from ASpace to OCLC Open Resource Record in ASpace Export -- Download MARCXML -- Include unpublished Open file in XML editor Remove <controlfield tag=”008”> Remove <subfield code="2">LCSH</subfield> inside <datafield> Inside <datafield> with tag="650" or "651", replace ind2="7" with ind2="0" Save Import into OCLC: File -- Import Records Select file to import [browse] Destination: Import to Local Save File. Check file path under Bibliographic, this will be the default local save file starting with Options: Type = BibNote ; Identifier = [initials] Record Characteristics -- Bibliographic Records: Record Standard = MARCXML ; Character Set = UTF-8 Unicode OK to import Do you want to delete your original import file = Yes Find record in save file selected in step 11 Update record Apply Constant data Edit -- Constant Data -- Local -- Apply by Name Choose MARC fields to apply = Both OK Fixed fields Ctrl = a Lang = change if not English BLvl = c Desc = i DtSt = 'i' for inclusive; ‘k’ for bulk [bulk takes precedence] Dates = verify dates from 245 $f or $g Diacritics = fix as they do not import correctly Remove extra spaces before periods " ." Control headings (1XX, 6XX [except 655], 7XX) Shift + F11 If note "You may need to control some headings individually" appears, check uncontrolled headings to make sure there is no LCSH authority Add 041, if more than one language appears in 546 Delete 044 245 = correct capitalization 300 = delete extra () around box count 545 = delete, unless useful Fill in 541 and 583; see end of 561 for accession number(s); add as necessary 561 remove accession numbers at end Delete 852 __ whi 856 $z, replace "Finding aid online:" with "Finding aid available online."
