The ASM Student Bus Pass program provides access to inexpensive, accessible mass transportation to students of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Funded by students for students via segregated fees.

Spring 2017 ASM Bus Passes Available Monday, January 9

Distribution of Spring 2017 Passes begins Monday, January 9th at 10 am. ASM Bus Passes are good for unlimited use of Metro Transit bus routes. Metro Transit runs fixed route and paratransit service covering most of the Madison metropolitan area seven days a week. Metro runs frequent service to and around campus, and also serves most major employment, shopping, health and recreation centers in the Madison region.

From January 9th through January 27, we’ll distribute passes at Union South and at the Student Activity Center, 333 East Campus Mall, 4th floor. Hours are 10 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday. Please note that during the week of January 9th, the SAC does not open to the public until 10 am.

We will be closed on Monday, January 16 for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.

Remember that to pick up your pass, you must bring your current, valid WisCard, and you must be registered for classes at UW-Madison. For more complete program rules, see below.

After January 27th, bus pass distribution moves to StudentPrint, which is located on the 3rd floor of the Student Activity Center. StudentPrint is also the location where we sell replacement passes, and exchange defective passes.

Campus bus routes (Routes 80, 81, 82 and 84) are always free to all students, staff and visitors and require no pass or ID.

You must be enrolled in classes for credit at UW-Madison for the current semester and show a valid, current WisCard to pick up a pass. Only students registered for classes for credit at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for which tuition and segregated fees have been charged are allowed to participate. Guest students, research interns, senior auditors and those registered through other educational institutions such as UW-LaCrosse are usually not eligible to receive a pass.

See website for complete details on replacement and other aspects of the pass.
