Provides crisis intervention, support, counseling and legal advocacy for any victim of recent or past sexual assault, harassment or incest in Dane County (including friends and relatives who reside in Dane County). Provide medical advocacy and accompaniment to health services. Also, this center conducts workshops for the general public, provides professional and volunteer training, and provides consultation. All counseling and crisis services are free and confidential.
They also teach Chimera, a self-defense method for women, taught by women, emphasizing assertiveness, psychological preparedness for defending oneself and physical techniques. There is a fee for Chimera courses, but scholarships are available--for more info see Chimera record.
