Learn@UW - Downloading and Printing Course Files

This document explains how to export Content from your course as a .zip file. This will allow you to save Content files to a local or network drive for future use. Note, this process will not export the Content topics or modules, but only the files themselves. This will also allow the files to be printed.

Note: There are several different ways for students and instructors to download content, though in order for content to be printed, it must be downloaded first.

To download/print individual documents

  • Method 1:
    1. Click on Materials in the course navbar and then choose Content.
    2. Click Table of Contents on the left side of the screen if it is not already selected.

    3. Click on the content item you'd like to print to bring it up in the viewing pane.
    4. There are several places you can download the document from this screen.
      • Click Download at the bottom of the screen.

      • Click the downward arrow next to the title of the document at the top of the page. Select Download from the dropdown menu.

      • Click the arrow icon on the bottom right side of the screen.

      • Choose whether to open or save the file, and then click OK.
  • Method 2:
    1. Click on Materials in the course navbar and then choose Content.
    2. Click Table of Contents on the left side of the screen if it is not already selected.

    3. Click the downward arrow next the document you'd like to download and select Download from the dropdown menu.

    4. Choose whether to open or save the file, and then click OK.

To download/print multiple documents at once

  1. Click Materials on the course navbar then select Content.
  2. Click Table of Contents on the left side of the screen.

  3. There are two ways to download multiple documents at once.
    • Students only: Click Download under Table of Contents.

    • Click the downward arrow next to Table of Contents and select Download from the dropdown list.

  4. This will compress the course documents into a .zip file.

To print the table of contents

  1. Click Materials on the course navbar then select Content.
  2. Click Table of Contents on the left side of the screen.

  3. Click Print in the top right corner of the screen.
