The International Division (ID) is comprised of four units: the Dean’s office, International Academic Programs (IAP), the International Internship Program (IIP), and the Institute for Regional and International Studies (IRIS).
ID provides leadership and assistance to all schools and colleges in their efforts to build international education into teaching and research and fosters cooperation among schools and colleges. The office works with units throughout the university to develop campus-level strategic plans and foster collaborations between two or more colleges on priority issues.
Through International Academic Programs (see separate record), ID manages over 70 campus-wide study abroad programs; runs several fellowship competitions; and approves all UW-Madison agreements and exchanges with foreign universities and centers. The fellowship advisor administers three Fulbright programs (as well as others).
Fulbright US Student grant program
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program (FUSP) is designed to give recent B.S./B.A. graduates, master’s and doctoral candidates, and young professionals and artists opportunities for personal development and international experience. Most grantees plan their own programs.
Projects can include university coursework, independent library or field research, teaching English, classes in a music conservatory or art school, special projects in the social or life sciences, or a combination.
Additional information on the Fulbright Program can be found here: http://iris.wisc.edu/funding/students/fulbright-us-student-program/
