Learn@UW - Possible Problem Posting Discussion Messages Using Internet Explorer
If you are using Internet Explorer, there is a slight chance you will encounter difficulties posting a message or replying to an existing message in the Discussions tool.
The symptom is that the browser stalls. The problem is caused by a missing internally stored value in a user's account settings. This problem does not occur if you are using other supported browsers such as Firefox.
This is a known issue.
If you experience this problem, you can resolve it as follows:
- Select Account Settings from the drop-down at the right of the minibar.
- Select the "Account Settings" tabbed page if not already there.
- Click Save.
You will then be able to post messages or reply to existing messages in the Discussions tool using Internet Explorer. The problem should not re-occur in the future.
