The Madison Metropolitan School District Planetarium is located in James Madison Memorial High School. The Planetarium seats 60 people, serves over 20,000 kindergarten through adult visitors each year, and has been open since 1966.

For more information on the MMSD Planetarium, please see the detailed brochure.

Public shows are offered October through May, usually on the 3rd Wednesday of each month  (please check web site or call for particulars of each month's show). These shows are open on a first-come, first-served basis; tickets go on sale at 6:00 p.m. and cost $2.50 per person.

Visitors may enter Memorial High School through the Gammon Road entrance. This entrance is also marked with a planetarium sign near the curb and the handicapped symbol above the entrance to the building. The planetarium is 50 feet down the hallway, on the right.

Tours for groups of up to 65 persons can be arranged--call for info.

Email is the preferred method for initial contacts since the planetarium director, Geoff Holt, is usually working with groups.
