Generally, the open house sessions occur:
January: 7:30-9:30 PM, 3rd Wednesday
February to March: 7:30-9:30 PM, 1st and 3rd Wednesdays
April and May: 9:00-11:00 PM, 1st and 3rd Wednesdays
June to August: 9:00-11:00 PM, every Wednesday
September and October: 9:00-11:00 PM, 1st and 3rd Wednesdays
November and December, 7:30-9:30 PM, 1st and 3rd Wednesdays

Washburn Observatory was built in 1881 and has a 15-inch refractor telescope. Visitors will be able to view one or more objects, and informal explanations are given. Open to anyone; groups welcome. No fees; reservations not necessary. No tours. Parking is available on Observatory Drive. Astronomer on duty during open hours to answer questions.
