My UW-Madison - Advisor Notes
The Advisor Notes function is a new function within My UW-Madison which allows advisors to document information about advisees with My UW. This document provides a brief overview of the Advisor Notes function.
Table of Contents
Advisor Notes, a new shared notes function, has replaced the notepad available from the Advisee Detail page in MyUW. The Advisee Detail page is accessed from the Advisee Lookup module or the Academic Advisors List of Advisees module. The new Advisor Notes function:
- Allows advisors to record anecdotal information about contacts with advisees
- Allows other advisors to see all notes written by any advisor for an advisee – notes are now shared
Advisors may access the new Advisor Notes functionality either through tools.advising.wisc.edu, the Academic Advisors List of Advisees or through the Advisee Lookup modules, as shown below
The new integrated notes interface ( shown below ) combines advisee selection from lookup via campus ID, list and recently viewed.
The integrated notes view enables advisors to maintain a productive workflow within the notes environment, without having to revisit the portal. The integrated notes view incorporates global "Sign Out" via the link in the upper right hand corner. This link will sign the advisor out of all web services ( following the procedures outlined in document: NetID Login Service - Logout Procedure ).
Advisors may also note the easy access to reports on their advisees in the left hand column.
The Advisor Notes System is only available to select individuals after completing a required getting started session. If you believe you should have access to ANS, please contact Jeff Shokler at email@example.com.
