Webex Conference Calling
These instructions will show you how to set up a more traditional conference calling line using
Webex. Once set up you will NOT have to schedule a meeting in Webex and send the access
code for each individual meeting. You as well as the participants will call the Standard NON
Toll-Free Webex number (415-655-0111). When the system asks for an access code, you will
put in your Host Access Code that will all stay the same. Then you will be asked for your PIN,
which you will determine during the setup; now you are in your call. When participants call the
number and are asked for an access code Attendee Access Code ; which will always stay the
same. Once they have entered the code they will be in the conference call. If participants join
the conference call before you, the host, it will instruct them that they will have to wait on the line
until the host joins.
- Go to the UW-Madison Webex, login, and if necessary make sure you are in Modern View. If you see it, tap on Modern View in the top right side.
- Then on the left hand side tap “Preferences” and the “Audio and Video” section.
- Scroll down and choose a PIN and then tap “Generate an account.”
- Now you have all the information you need to have a conference call whenever you want.
You can add up to three personal conference numbers per account. Also you can click on the circular arrow icon next to the number of the account and it will generate a new unique Host Access Code and a new unique Attendee Access Code. This could be good to do every so often because it doesn’t change. This could help prevent people from joining your call who were not invited. It could also be a good idea to generate new codes before a particularly sensitive call.
