PaperCut - Mac, Mobile Printing - Hold for Authentication Error

This document goes over how to fix a “Hold for Authentication” error while using a mobile queue on PaperCut with a Mac device.

Why this error is occurring?

  • Either the NetID or Password was typed in or saved incorrectly.

What to do to Fix this Error?

  • First, spot the error occurred by looking at the printer icon in the bottom right corner. 
    • Prnter Icon with warning message.
  • Click into the icon. The following will appear.
    • Highlighted the reload button.
  • Click on the little reload button on the far right and a box will pop up. See the blue highlighted box.
    • The pop-up screen with the error and print job.
  • When the box pops up, make sure to type in the NetID and Password carefully.
    • Blue highlighted reload button.
    •  Tip: Do not check the “Remember this password in my keychain” if you are not 100% sure the NetID and Password is correct.
  • Make sure the printer icon at the bottom right does not look like it did, and then disappears quickly. 
  • Go over to the desired print release station and login with NetID and Password and release the print.
