Supervisors/Managers - How do I approve a training request?

WE DO NOT APPROVE SESSIONS ANYMORE. THIS DOCUMENT IS OLD AND OUTDATED.

  1. Log in to PDS Online.

  2. In your menu options across the top of the screen, single click on the My Team option.

  3. Now that you're in My Team, look to the right half of your screen, and select the Action Items tab.

  5. If you have trainings to approve, the you will see a list of names and trainings. If there is a box with a green arrow next to the item (external-training.png), it is an external training. If there is a calendar next to the item (session.png), it is a session.

  6. If it is an external training, the process of approving this training should include you verifying that the person attended the training (possibly by cross-referencing with you paper records of trainings that person attended). If it is a session, you should approve the session only if the training is appropriate for that person.

  7. Once you have determined if the individual did/needs to attend the training, click on the Approve/Deny link to the right of the training name.

  8. Fill out the form that appears. Select one of the radio buttons to indicate whether you Approve or Deny the training for the person, and provide a comments.
