Users - I don't have eWiSACWIS access. Why are people saying I have a PDS Online account because I am listed in eWiSACWIS?
eWiSACWIS sends PDS Online information about all users every night at 2 A.M. PDS Online was originally created with the purpose of tracking whether social workers and foster parents were fulfilling training requirements as explained in DCF 43 and 56. The data feed is required so that we (WCWPDS) can know if there are individuals who never took any trainings at all. If there wasn't any data feed from eWiSACWIS, we would have to rely on everyone registering themselves with PDS Online, and we might miss some folks that we need to be tracking.
You have a login to eWiSACWIS
Many county social workers and some private agency staff can be listed as "primary assignments" on cases in eWiSACWIS, so you shouldn't be surprised that you are listed in eWiSACWIS. Because you have a login to eWiSACWIS, your name and person ID comes over to PDS Online every night with information about whether you are still employed in this role. In eWiSACWIS, you can search for yourself in the Worker tab. Your eWiSACWIS person ID number is listed in parenthesis after your name.
Your PDS Online username will always be a W (which stands for "Worker") followed by that seven-digit person ID number.
You're a Foster Parent in Wisconsin
If you're a foster parent (licensed by either a county or private agency in WI), you may not know it, but you also get assigned "cases" in eWiSACWIS, just like a social worker. In eWiSACWIS, you are listed in the Person tab. Your eWiSACWIS person ID number is listed in parenthesis after your name.
Your PDS Online username will always be a P (which stands for "Person") followed by that seven-digit person ID number.
You're a private agency worker
If you're a worker for a Private Agency (ex: SaintA in Milwaukee), you may be surprised to learn that you are listed in eWiSACWIS. You may already have a login to eWiSACWIS (for example, if you're a case worker who gets cases assigned to you), so you would fall under the first category of "having a login" (see above). If you don't though, you are still probably listed in eWiSACWIS, even though you won't have log in credentials to eWiSACWIS. To illustrate this point in eWiSACWIS, you can find your organization in the Provider Organization tab. Click on the name of the organization, and in the pop-up, click on the Background Checks tab. Your name will be listed there along with all other employees in your company. This information in eWiSACWIS may be maintained by Maximus, or someone within your own organization.
Your PDS Online username will always be a S (stands for Private Agency "Staff") followed by that seven-digit personnel provider ID number. There is no easy way in eWiSACWIS to find your personnel provider ID number.
