Internal Medicine PGY-2 Residency

This program is designed to transition PGY1 Pharmacy resident graduates from a generalist to an internal medicine specialist with a focus on the care of adult patients with multiple complex medical problems, primarily in the inpatient setting. Residents who successfully complete the PGY2 Internal Medicine Residency will be able to provide integrated pharmaceutical care at a patient-specific level as well as a patient population level across continuums of care. Furthermore, the program will provide residents with opportunities to conceptualize, integrate, and transform accumulated experiences and knowledge into skill, competence, and confidence in providing safe, efficient, and evidence-based cost-effective patient care.

The internal medicine PGY 2 at UW Health will provide the resident with a wide variety of experiences that come from practicing at a high paced, academic tertiary care center. Our pharmacists are fully integrated into every aspect of patient care. You will feel like you have made a difference everyday!
What goals do you have for residents who complete your residency program?
My goal is for my resident to leave the program feeling confident in their practice, teaching, communication, administration and research skills.

Look outside of your regional comfort zone (if you can) and be yourself!
