Safety Training For New Lab Members

What trainings to complete and where to do them

When beginning lab activities, please register for this Introductory safety course for students in the College of Engineering who will be doing research in COE research laboratories :

In addition to the introductory training above, there will be more lab-specific trainings to complete in order to be safe in the lab. These will depend on what work you will be doing in the lab. Examples include chemicals safety, cryogenics safety.

At a minimum, everyone should complete:

Chemical Safety Training with EHS

CoE Battery Safety and Disposal Training

Fire Extinguisher Training

PhD and MS students should also complete: 

Compressed Gas Cylinder Training

Performing a Risk Assessment
