DoIT Paid Repair Services

In addition to providing warranty repair services for Apple and Dell computers, DoIT Repair is also able to offer paid, out-of-warranty repair services for Apple, Dell, and all other computer brands.

Out-Of-Warranty Repair

DoIT Repair is able to provide repair options for virtually any computer which has lapsed its warranty coverage, or requires repair due to accidental damage.  A service technician will diagnose the computer's issue, research and obtain a price quote for any necessary parts, and contact you regarding your repair options.  With your approval, we will proceed with the repair, followed by a comprehensive round of tests and diagnostics to ensure that our repair is successful.  

Computers which are owned by University departments are eligible for our free pick-up and delivery service.  Please see our Service Request page for more information. 

Hardware Upgrades

In addition to repair, we can perform computer upgrades such as the installation of hard drives, RAM, video cards, etc.  If you are interested in upgrading hardware, check out the Tech Store's webpage to see what components are available for your machine. If you need advice or assistance, the Tech Store provides consultation. Upgrade components purchased from the Tech Store may qualify for a flat-rate, on-the-spot "Quick Install," depending on the type of machine and component being installed. The Tech Store can help you determine this.

If the Tech Store does not carry the computer component you want, we can order it for you after verifying compatibility. Once the component is installed, a technician will test and verify it. Components not purchased from the Tech Store do not qualify for Quick Install service.

Time and Materials Repair Rates

The rates for our time and materials repairs and services, unless specified otherwise, are listed below. If you need faster turnaround on repairs, we can expedite repair on a fee basis (please contact us to inquire about our current turnaround time). There is a minimum one-hour service charge for all in-shop work, including diagnosis where no issue is found.

In addition to time (labor) charges, the customer will receive a price quote for any parts necessary to complete the repair.  
  • Standard Rate = $80.00/hour, $80 minimum charge.  Regular, non-warranty, non-contract hourly charge for all support, setup, installation, troubleshooting, and repair on any software or hardware.
  • Priority Rate = $120.00/hour, $120 minimum charge.  A technician will begin working on your computer within one business day of check-in.
  • Emergency Rate = $160.00/hour, $160 minimum charge.  A technician will begin working on your computer within two business hours of check-in.
Note that DoIT Repair is open Monday through Friday from 7:45AM to 5:30PM, excluding legal holidays.  The above rates do not guarantee a completion time for your repair.
