Criteria for automatic eligibility for ResearchDrive

Individuals in the following categories are automatically eligible for no-cost allotment of 25 TB on ResearchDrive: 

• Tenured and Tenure Track Faculty (Faculty Job Group, Job Codes: FA040 (Assistant Professor); FA030 (Associate Professor); and FA020 (Professor))
• Academic Staff who have been granted Permanent PI status 
• Academic Staff with Research Professor titles ((Research Job Group, Job Codes: RE112 (Research Assistant Professor), RE113 (Research Associate Professor), RE035 (Research Professor))

Eligibility Exception Request Form

Other individuals conducting research (including other Academic Staff and Emeritus Faculty) that do not meet the criteria for automatic eligibility may be eligible for a no-cost allotment of 2 TB, with the potential to request more.

To apply, complete the Application for Eligibility Exception for No-cost Storage Subsidy on ResearchDrive. Eligibility will be determined based on research activities, responsibilities for data, and UW-Madison employment. 

Note:  Tenured / tenure track faculty members DO NOT need to complete the eligibility exception form to receive the subsidy and instead may complete the ResearchDrive Request Form.
