This document provides information on how to provide parking passes for Russell Labs visiting speakers and guests.

The departments provide parking passes for visiting speakers and guests in Lot 36 (the ramp next to the building).

Overview

Russell Labs offers two options for visitor parking - ordering a value permit in advance, and obtaining a validation ticket.

Ordering a Value Permit in Advance

Make sure to allow two weeks for processing.

Complete the value permit order form or call Special Events at (608) 262-8683.

They will mail you the permit(s).

Obtaining a Validation Ticket

The validation ticket lets the holder exit the ramp without paying.

The tickets can be used in the ramp next to Russell Labs (Lot 36), and four other lots* if Lot 36 is full.

Before the visitor arrives, the host should:

  • See the receptionist in room 237 to get a validation ticket.
  • Let the receptionist know if you want the validation ticket placed in the PI's mailbox.

If Lot 36 is full (signs will say “no visitor parking”) you can try these nearby lots:

How to Use a Validation Ticket

When entering the ramp:

  • Take the entry ticket.
  • The gate will rise.
  • Keep the entry ticket.

When exiting the ramp:

  • Scan the entry ticket.
  • Scan the validation ticket.
  • The gate will rise.
