How to access ARROW
How do I log in to ARROW?
A UW-Madison NetID is required to log in to ARROW. This is your username for logging into WiscMail, the MyUW Portal, the Parking Assignment system, and many other UW-Madison resources.
What if I don't have a UW-Madison NetID?
All UW-Madison faculty, staff, and students are eligible to obtain a UW-Madison NetID. You may already have one and not know it. As a first step toward troubleshooting a NetID problem, contact a local support person in your department. They will likely be able to walk you through the process of logging in, or determining whether you have a NetID, or activating your NetID.
To find out whether you have one, try logging into the MyUW Portal. If you don't have one, you can visit a web page to activate your NetID. You will need to know your date of birth and your campus ID number. You will also be asked to choose a password.
What if I don't know my UW-Madison NetID?
Contact the DoIT Help Desk at 608-264-HELP (608-264-4357).
Can I use my NetID from another school in the UW system to access ARROW?
No. In order to access ARROW, you will need a UW-Madison NetID. To request a UW-Madison NetID, please the read the information below for non-UW-Madison personnel.
What if I'm not a UW-Madison student, faculty member or staff member?
Others may apply for an authorization to access ARROW. Individuals who may be good candidates for ARROW authorizations include:
- Employees of the Madison VA Hospital, the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics, and the UW Medical Foundation who participate in or administer research involving human subjects
- Investigators and study staff from other non-UW-Madison institutions (including other UW system schools) who collaborate on projects that are overseen by a UW-Madison IRB
- Site visitors and study monitors
- Consultants who are not engaged in research but whose professional function justifies ARROW access
How do I add a new NetID to ARROW or provide access to another researcher?
The "Register a NetID" activity allows ARROW users to add NetIDs to the system, to be able to list new users on their protocol applications. Simply provide the NetID of the new user, and then they should appear in the database and have access to ARROW.
