Status Relationships
Status Relationships
Status relationships are relationships where any member of the study team has a position of power or influence over any potential research subjects. This includes instructors/teachers/professors, TAs, employers, etc. If the research project includes a status relationship, certain issues must be addressed, including:
- The recruitment process;
- The consent process;
- Any risks to participants.
For more information, please review the IRB office's guidelines on status relationships in research.
