LastPass - Install and log in to the LastPass browser extension
Downloading the LastPass extension for your browser provides the best password management experience and is required for those who authenticate using their UW-Madison NetID.
To get started using your LastPass account on your desktop, you’ll need to first install a Browser Extension from lastpass.com/download

Install and log in to the LastPass browser extension by doing the following:
- Go to the LastPass downloads page.
- Select Download for your desired web browser extension, or click Quick Install if you are actively using your desired web browser.
- In your browser toolbar, select the inactive LastPass icon.
- Enter your email address and master password, then select Log In.
Troubleshooting: If you are using NetID for your LastPass account, the master password field will disappear, and you will be prompted to select Log in and be redirected to your NetID login sign-in page. View detailed instructions here.
- Duo multi-factor authentication should be enabled on your account, so follow the Duo prompts to authenticate.
Results: An active LastPass icon is now displayed in your browser toolbar to indicate you are successfully logged in to LastPass.
