UW-Madison Zoom Workplace - Add-on Licenses

UW-Madison Zoom accounts have access to premium add-on licenses at no additional cost. This document explains which add-ons are available, how to request one, and how to see which add-ons are assigned to your UW-Madison Zoom account. Please note, the criteria below is subject to change without notice.

   

Available add-on licenses

Standard add-ons:

  • Large meeting 500
  • Large meeting 1,000
  • Webinar 1,000
  • Concurrent meeting (up to 20 meetings)

Non-standard add-ons:

Interested in an add-on license that is not listed (e.g., Webinar 3,000, Webinar Plus, Events)? Open a support ticket. Please note the following when requesting a non-standard add-on:

  • Requests need to be reviewed by UW System procurement.
  • Review process can take at least 1 month.
  • Approval is not guaranteed.
  • If approved, a charge back and multi-year commitment is required. 

Zoom Phone is not available for purchase. 

Large meeting

Recommended for individuals hosting interactive sessions with their attendees and creating breakout sessions for group discussions. Example: Lecture, departmental meetings, office hours. Compare meeting and webinars. Learn more.

Limitation: The concurrent add-on does not support PMI or recurring meetings. 

Instructors are automatically assigned a "Large Meeting 500" add-on to their UW-Madison Zoom account. The add-on is viewable on the account's profile page under the License Type section.

Webinar

Recommended for individuals presenting content with little to no interactive sessions. Examples: Presentations, panel discussions, training sessions. Compare meeting and webinars. Learn more.

Limitations: The concurrent add-on does not support webinars. Breakout sessions are not available for webinars. 

Concurrent meeting

Recommended for hosts that need to run multiple meetings simultaneously. Example: Conferences, seminars. Learn more about concurrent meetings.

Limitations: 

  • Cannot be used to host concurrent webinars, PMI meetings, or recurring meetings.
  • Cannot be used to host 1 meeting and 1 webinar at the same time.

Request form

Important: If you are an instructor, you are automatically assigned "Large Meeting 500" add-on to your UW-Madison Zoom account. You can verify this by reviewing your profile page (look within the License Type section). You do not need to request this add-on license.

Submission criteria:

Submit your request at least 5 days in advance. 

Note:

  • Extensions and renewals can be submitted using the form below.
  • Requests to extend the duration or renew an add-on license is subject to availability.

  1. Go to https://uwmadison.zoom.us/.
  2. Click Sign In.
    • If prompted to select an account, select the account you want to access.
  3. Click on the Profile tab in the left menu.
  4. Scroll down the page and view the License Type section.
    • Add-on licenses will be listed in this section.
