The meeting was called to order at 3:02 p.m.
The minutes of February 29 were approved.

Regarding hostile and intimidating behavior (HIB), the unified campus policy is still being worked on and the Office of Human Resources (OHR) is gathering feedback on the new online training. There are currently an appropriate number of HIB liaisons with good representation from different employment categories.
Vice Provost Meyerand discussed professional development opportunities related to mentoring.

Fernie Rodriguez, the new associate vice chancellor for student affairs, introduced themself.
A consultant was hired last fall to complete a cultural center review, and is currently reviewing DEIB work in Student Affairs.
Since October 7, protest activity on campus has increased dramatically. Staff in Student Affairs spend a lot of time preparing for these events to keep people safe. They are also working on updating the protest guidelines, which they provide to students in advance of planned protests.
In response to student feedback, Student Affairs is reviewing the bias and hate reporting process.
Motion to Convene in Closed Session Pursuant to Wis. Stats. 19.85(1)(c), and (f) to Discuss Nominations to the Secretary of the Academic Staff Search and Screen Committee (Cole). Seconded. Approved.
Motion to Reconvene in Open Session (Stoddard Cameron). Seconded. Approved.

- Nominations – for vote
Motion to nominate Sue Carlson, Donna Cole, Joseph Halaas, Jennifer Hanrahan, Angela Kita, and Nicholas Oleksy to the Secretary of the Academic Staff Search and Screen Committee (Ewer). Seconded. Approved.
- Ad Hoc Review Committees on Academic Staff Professorial Titles
The committee charges have been updated based on feedback from the Provost Office. Lindsey will send them to OHR to get their input as well.
- April Assembly Agenda
ASEC discussed the Resolution in Recognition of the 175th Anniversary of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Lesley will provide feedback to the Secretary of the Faculty Office.
