Matlab - How to Install

1. Unzip file downloaded in the previous step, then open the file. 
2. Double-click the installer application to open.
3. You may be asked if you are sure you want to it, select Open.
   • Note: It may take a few moments for the next step to occur.
4. Enter your Mac password to allow MathWorksProductInstaller to make changes.
5. Click OK.
6. Enter your @wisc.edu email and click Next.

7. Use your NetID and Password to login.
8. Verify your identity with Duo.
9. If you have not set up an account before, finish your profile.
10. Accept the software license agreement, then click Next.
11. Select the license, then click Next.
12. Select destination folder, then click Next.
    • Note: The default folder is /Applications. 
13. If prompted, enter your Mac password to allow MathWorksProductInstaller to make changes.
14. Select products, then click Next.
15. Click Next.
16. Click Begin Install.
    • Note: Depending on your connection, this process may exceed 10 minutes. 

Note: You may need to install Java Runtime if you are running Matlab on an Apple Silicon machine. If prompted, click Install Java Runtime or follow the instructions here.

1. Unzip the file downloaded in the previous step.
    
2. Extract files and select a file location.
   
   
3. Locate and open the Exe. installation file labeled setup.
   • Note: If your setup file opens as a text file, try repeating the unzipping process or downloading an alternative zip file processor like 7-zip here.
4. Allow the program to make changes to your device.
   
5. Select I need to create an account and enter the activation key.
   
   • Note: The activation key can be found under Installation Instructions on the Matlab page in the Campus Software Library.
6. Install.
   
   • Note: Depending on your connection, this process may exceed 10 minutes. 
7. Verify account.
    
8. Confirm selection, then launch!
