Student Advocacy Committee / ASM
Description
The Student Advocacy Committee is one of the open committees of the Associated Students of Madison (ASM) and is in charge of advocating for students at the university, city, county, and state level. We organize grassroots campaigns and lobby university administration and our local/state/federal representatives for policies that benefit students and protect funding for UW-Madison. The goal of this committee is to deepen its members' knowledge of student shared governance and the Wisconsin legislative process. We also help build skills through lobby-training workshops and direct interaction with campus leaders and local officials. This committee coordinates with other open committees of ASM to ensure the student voice is heard. This committee is coordinated by the Legislative Affairs Chair, Shared Governance Chair, and the Vote Coordinator.
