Turnitin service issues

Turnitin is reporting unexpected service issues causing slow (or stopped) uploads and similarity report generation.

Outage Description

At 9:34am CT Turnitin reported issues with a number of their products. After testing Learn@UW was unable to verify that our service is impacted, but is issuing this news item in case the UW-Madison community is impacted. 

Impact to Users

Submissions sent to Turnitin via assignments in Canvas may encounter an error when accessing similarity reports, or similarity reports generation may be delayed. There are no known workarounds at this time, and users who believe they may be impacted can contact the DoIT Help Desk.

Learn@UW is continuing to monitor the situation and will update this news item as the situation develops.

Resolved

At 12:33pm CT, Turnitin reported that this issue is now resolved. After testing, Learn@UW confirmed that similarity reports for new assignment submissions were successfully generated.. 

Users with submissions that are still pending are encouraged to resubmit using the grey "resubmit" button in Canvas Speedgrader. If, after resubmitting, a similarity report is not generated within 24 hours, please contact the DoIT Help Desk.
