ASM Chair statement on Chancellor Mnookin’s departure

MADISON, Wis. — Associated Students of Madison Chair Landis Varughese: “I congratulate Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin on accepting her new role as President of Columbia University. Although we did not agree on many issues, I appreciate her commitment to meeting with ASM leaders in discussing the needs of students on campus.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to working collaboratively with Chancellor Mnookin throughout the remainder of her tenure. With UW-Madison and the Board of Regents beginning the search process in the coming months, we look forward to engaging and contributing student voices to this important decision.”
