2195 Vilas Hall AV
2195 Vilas has a camera in the back of the room that can auto-track someone in the front of the room, as well as ceiling microphones for audio. These are intended to be used with a conferencing tool like Zoom. The camera can follow the presenter as they walk around the room, and the ceiling microphones allow everyone in the room to be heard by remote participants.
Tap the touchscreen to open the controls, select HDMI, then select Send To All to send your screen to the TVs. Connecting the USB connection to your laptop and turning on the TVs will activate the camera.
If there is no audio make sure the Mute button is not selected (in the image to the left the audio is muted), and your computer is sending audio through the HDMI connection (see Troubleshooting below).
In your video conferencing software select the room AV:
Microphone: AV Bridge
Speaker: Extron HDMI
Video: AV Bridge
The camera will lock on to, then auto-track the person in the front of the room. The camera feed may just be a blue screen when you first select it. Wait a few seconds and it will correct itself.
The ceiling microphones will pick up audio and send it to your conferencing software. The microphones in the room will also continue to work, sending audio to your conferencing software, and amplifying your voice within the room.
If you have no audio from your computer to the room speakers make sure you have selected the correct output on your device. On your Mac click the Control Center icon, then Sound, and finally select the correct output device (Crestron 420 for room speakers).
If you are plugged in to one of the displays and all you see is a desktop background you need to turn on mirroring. Select System Preferences -> Displays. Control+click on the larger screen and select Mirror for Built-in Display.
