Transfer of existing SMPH policies to SMPH Policy Knowledgebase

In order to improve search functionality, accessibility and ease of policy document management, SMPH is shifting to a Knowledgebase platform and away from the current "table + Box" format as a repository for policy documents.
A KnowledgeBase (KB) is a platform that empowers users to easily locate technology support and information online. It also allows KnowledgeBase site owners and authors to easily create, categorize, maintain and present that information.
Beginning in October 2020, the UW School of Medicine and Public Health began moving existing administrative policy documents from a repository of PDFs on Box to the SMPH Policy Kb. This is intended to allow:
- Ease of document management throughout policy lifecycles. The Kb platform allows implementation of document workflows, including periodic document review/approval cycles.
- Easier searching of SMPH policy content, based on search keyword(s).
- Easier viewing of policy content on mobile devices.
Additionally, the new Kb does not rely on Box, which is advantageous due to storage limitations for Box that have recently been implemented at the campus level.
