This reference guide provides information on how to complete the UW– Madison budget in Adaptive Planning tool from Workday. This will replace the Department Planning Spreadsheet and 136 templates.

Obtaining Access
If you need any security roles to complete this process, discuss with your next level leader. If approved, reach out to your department/unit’s Workday Role-Based Access Requester.
To check your security role access set up prior to Workday:

- Click on the Employee Lookup tab in Tableau.
- Enter your name in the legal name field (last name, first name).
To find your department/unit’s Workday Role-Based Access Requester:

- Go to your Workday profile and click "Job” in the left navigation menu.
- Click “Support Roles” in the top header.
- In the Assignable Role column, scroll to find the Role-Based Access Requester.
Workday Role-Based Access Requester: please include the following information in the request:

- Select the appropriate cost center level for access.
- If full department access is needed, select the CCHL7 level.
- If access is only needed to specific cost centers, select those CC cost center numbers.
- Include in the comments the following selections:
- One of these permission sets:
- Planner Profile with Salary Detail
- Planner Profile without Salary Detail
- View-Only Profile with Salary Detail
- View-Only Profile without Salary Detail
- Global User Group: Planner Group without Alloc
- One of these permission sets:
- Select the appropriate cost center level for access.
