Employee Well-Being
- Medical Leaves: The FMLA team (smph-fmla@med.wisc.edu) is available to help employees understand their leave options if they need to take time off work for medical or family reasons.
- Disability Accommodations: If employees have questions or concerns regarding disability matters or medical concerns, they should contact the Disability Services Advisor Divisional Disability Representatives (DDRs) in SMPH at the confidential email (smph-accommodation@med.wisc.edu).
- Employee Assistance Office (EAO): The EAO is a confidential resource for employees who are finding it difficult to successfully cope with work-related or personal issues.
- The EAO News for Managers provides user-friendly advice on dealing with a variety of workplace issues and working effectively with your Employee Assistance Office.
- LifeMatters: Along with the EAO, LifeMatters provides employees with free and confidential 24/7 telephone access to professional counselors in support of employees’ personal and work-related concerns.
- Ombuds: University employees can seek guidance regarding workplace concerns at any time, without fear of reprisal, and at no cost to them.
- Incident Response Toolkit: Contains information and resources from the Office of Social Impact and Belonging to be used at any time, including before or immediately after an incident or crisis, to engage effectively in response and serve as an ally to individuals who are affected.
- Supporting Employee Well-being: Workplace well-being resources for managers and supervisors to model, promote, and support a culture of well-being.
- Supporting Employee Mental Health: Resources to help managers and mentors to care for their own mental health while supporting the mental health of their employees.
Remote Work
- Supervising in a Hybrid Work Environment : Resources to successfully supervise an employee in a hybrid work environment and setting clear expectations for employees to manage their workload.
