Re-Mapping S-drive using NetID on a Mac
Instructions on how to re-map the S-drive on a Mac using your NetID credentials
Re-mapping the S-Drive on a Mac with NetID credentials
- Eject the S-drive in Finder. Open finder, then on the left under ‘Locations’, click the eject button to the right of the files.ad.sohe.wisc.edu object.
- Open Keychain Access, then select ‘Open Keychain Access’. You can find Keychain Access by opening Finder->Applications->Utilities. Use the search bar in Keychain Access to search for ‘files.ad.sohe.wisc.edu’. Find the keychain entry for ‘files.ad.sohe.wisc.edu’ and then hit the delete key once you select it, go ahead and delete all entries.
- Log out of your user account, or restart the computer.
- Go to Finder->Go->Connect to server. Enter ‘Smb://files.ad.sohe.wisc.edu/sohe2’ as the server name. When prompted for a login, enter ‘AD\NetID’ and then your NetID password.
You are now mapped to the S-drive with your NetID credentials. If you have any issues getting connected, or accessing files you should be able to reach, email us at bits@sohe.wisc.edu .
