Human Ecology Partners in Giving Campaign Committee Charter
Charter for the committee of the Partners in Giving campaign for the School of Human Ecology at UW–Madison.
Purpose:
The School of Human Ecology Partners in Giving Campaign Committee (the “Committee”) will help raise awareness about, promote, and support the annual Partners in Giving campaign of UW–Madison at the School of Human Ecology. This charter was created January 2025 by human ecology Committee members.
Composition:
The Committee shall be comprised of a group including the following representatives, aspiring for a balance of new members of the Human Ecology community and colleagues who have been at Human Ecology for three (3) years or more.
- Past Chair of the Committee
- Representative of a Department or Center
- Representative of Coordinators of Academic Programs & Services (CAPS)
- Representative of Advising & Career Center (ACC)
- Representative of Business Office/BITS
- Representative of Advancement & Communications Team
- Student Representation – consider formalized leadership role of some sort
Expectations of Committee Members:
- Attend majority of Committee meetings planned by Chair or Co-Chairs (at least 1 or 2 meetings).
- Work with other Committee members to plan 1 to 2 Campaign events.
- Serve as a point of contact for the Campaign in relevant Human Ecology unit and the school at large.
- Pitch in on tasks and coverage for events and activities planned by the Committee.
Leadership:
- The Committee will be led by a named Chair or Co-Chair. The Chair or Co-Chairs will be nominated at the end of each campaign for the following year and notified in advance with the opportunity to accept or decline.
- The Past Chair (from the year prior) will participate in the Committee in the year after they served as Chair.
Documentation:
The Committee will maintain a cloud-based file with materials related to the Partners in Giving Campaign which will help to document work done before, as well as background and ideas that will inform future work.
Annual Calendar:
- Summer – provide new Chair name to Dean Shim’s office and campus Partners in Giving contacts
- September – Chair confers with Past Chair and attends campus training // Committee meets to plan campaign activities and set goals for the given year, as applicable
- October to December – campaign activities
- January/February – debrief meeting of the Committee, assess how things went and ways to improve next year, seek commitments and nominations for next year’s committee, name next year Chair
