Let’s Talk: Virtual, online versions of our informal one-on-one drop-in consultations with a counselor will run throughout the semester. Let's Talk will remain virtual for the rest of spring semester. Students will need to sign up for a time slot via an online form for virtual sections of Let’s Talk. New this summer, a reduced schedule of Let’s Talk will be piloted and will be a great option for students away from Wisconsin to get support. The summer schedule will be added to the Let’s Talk webpage after the spring schedule is over.

Choosing Your Care, Finding a Community Provider Workshops: This workshop is designed to support students in using their insurance to find and connect with a therapist in the community. This is a great option for students who know they want long-term and/or specialized mental health care beyond what MHS provides so they can make informed decisions about their options. It can also be very helpful for students looking for care over the summer if they are away from Wisconsin.

Thrive Workshops: This series of virtual workshops is designed to share tips and tools for thriving at the university. All workshops will be held on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30pm. The full schedule and registration links are found here. Remaining topics this semester are:

Other Workshops and Groups: There are a variety of other workshops and groups available even at the end of the semester that students can sign up for directly. A few of these include:
- Drugs on Your Mind: A one session workshop that focuses on providing answers to questions about substances like alcohol or cannabis.
- Let’s F.A.C.E. It!: A 2-session workshop that develops new ways to manage the cognitive, behavioral, and physiological aspects of anxiety and depression.
- Grad Resilience: A series of rotating of one-hour virtual lunch discussions for current graduate students that presents strategies to navigate a feature of grad culture.
- Student Success: A series of single-session workshops that focus on providing information and strategies to confront common challenges and enhance academic success.
- Mindfulness Sampler: A multi-week workshop series that focuses on practicing mindfulness skills and applying mindfulness to different parts of life.
Connecting Badgers Podcast: Connecting Badgers is a podcast hosted by Mental Health Services staff discussing topics relevant to our campus communities. Listening to this podcast is an easy, immediately accessible way students can care for their mental health when they are short on time. SilverCloud and YOU@Wisc: These online resources are always available to students, even those not enrolled in summer courses, or are away from Wisconsin this summer. SilverCloud is an online, self-guided, interactive mental health resource that provides students with accessible cognitive behavioral interventions 24 hours a day. YOU@Wisc is a student connection portal with tools, content, and resources specific to UW–Madison student life designed to build resilience within students and foster campus connections.

Student and Early Career Council (SECC) Dissertation Research Funding Awards-Proposal Deadline: May 1, 2022, 11:59pm Eastern
The Student and Early Career Council (SECC) of the Society for Research in Child Development is pleased to announce its 14th annual competition for graduate student dissertation research funding. These non-renewable awards in the amount of up to $2,000 USD are given to doctoral students for dissertation research proposals that merit special recognition and display strong potential to contribute to the field of child development. Award recipients will be recognized at the SRCD 2023 Biennial Meeting.
