McCulloch Lab Restricted Drive Mapping in Surgery Remote
The article below will describe the process for mapping Dr. Mcculloch's Restricted Drive (R:\ drive) while using Surgery Remote from a personal computer.
Note: This guide is not required if you are using a supported endpoint. Please refer to this article if you are on a DOS computer using SMPH VPN.
Please follow the steps below to map the drive while using Surgery Remote:
- Login to Surgery Remote using your browser of choice. Please refer to this guide on how to login.
- Launch the app you are planning to work in. This process has been tested with Word, Excel, and Windows Explorer but it should work for any app available.
- The launch process will proceed until a PowerShell window is displayed. This will ask you to enter your NetID credentials for connecting to Restricted Drive. Please enter the requested info in the following format.
- User name: [NetID]@ad.wisc.edu or ad\[NetID]
- Password: [NetID password]
- Then click OK to proceed.
- Your application will open and you should be able to access your normal Surgery drive mappings as well as the R:\ drive. You may need to Browse for the relevant location if using an Office application.
If your Surgery network drives do not appear, there may be an issue with the Citrix environment. Please contact the Surgery Help Desk to get this resolved.
If the R:\ drive is not accessible, you may not have permissions to Dr. McCulloch's Restricted Drive. Please contact Suzan Abdelhalim if you need access to the drive.
