Minutes for July 14, 2025

UC members present: Bernard-Donals, Chui, de Leon, Jones, Kendall, Mathieu

Chair Jones called the meeting to order at 2:00 pm.

Bernard-Donals motioned, and it was seconded and approved, to convene in closed session pursuant to Wis. Stats. 19.85(1)(c) and (f) to discuss waivers and a committee appointment at 2:01 pm. Two leaves of absence and two tenure clock extensions were approved.

Chui motioned, and it was seconded and approved, to reconvene in open session at 2:26 pm.

The minutes from June 23, 2025, were approved as distributed.

The University Committee discussed plans for holding town halls during the coming year. The timing of the first town hall was suggested to be September perhaps September 15 if the presentation on academia falls through. There was discussion about modality and also perhaps doing two locations on the same time.

The University Committee’s operating procedures were approved with a motion from Bernard-Donals and a second.

Jones adjourned the meeting at 3:33 pm.
