Printing (macOS) - Mapping a Departmental Printer

How to connect to a printer using Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub on a TS-supported device.

These steps only work for departmentally-owned macOS devices. If you are using a personal device, please see Printing (macOS) - Mapping a Printer by IP instead.

  1. From your Applications folder or menu bar, open Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub.
  2. In the sidebar on the left, click Apps.
  3. From the "Categories" drop-down menu at the top of the window, select Printers.
  4. Find your desired printer in the list and click Run.

The printer should appear in your list shortly. Note that they will be named based on the building, room, and model. For example, an HP LaserJet M475dn in Van Hise 279 would be named:
VH-279-HP-475
You can rename the printer after connecting to it.

Troubleshooting

  • If you don't see any apps listed in Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub, quit the app using cmd + q, then reopen it.
  • The installer process will attempt to remove old connections to the same printer, but it cannot always do so. You may want to manually remove old connections if they remain after completing these steps.
