Person API Support
Information on getting help and support for the Person API.
Before contacting our support email, we suggest reviewing the documentation on the Developer Portal to see if that can help answer your question. Documentation pages are linked from the Person API specification page . Our documentation includes tutorials, developer guidelines, webhook information, and instructions on getting access to the Person API.
Contact Support
If you weren't able to find the information you needed in our documentation, please email your questions to api@doit.wisc.edu .
Please include the following information in your email if you're troubleshooting an issue calling the Person API:
- The name and/or ID of your Developer Portal application.
- The full request URL you are using to call the Person API (e.g.
https://api.wisc.edu/people?filter[firstName]=Jon). - The timestamp(s) of your request(s).
- If you are receiving an error from the Person API, please include the HTTP status code and the response body from the Person API.
- For webhook questions, include the webhook/subscription ID and the webhook event ID, if they exist.
- For export questions, include the ID of the export.
Additional Support Guidelines
- Please do not send us any access tokens or API keys. These are credentials and should not be shared. Our team will never ask you to share credentials.
- Sending logs from your specific client/application make it difficult to troubleshoot Person API issues. Instead, we suggest replicating the issue you're seeing in a tool like Postman, then sharing the details of the request in your support email so our team and easily replicate the issue on our workstations.
