How do I get my sequencing data synced into WEI/GLBRC's storage?
Steps to get sequencing data synced to WEI/GLBRC storage
For more information that may not be contained here, please see the Compute Resource Guide
It all depends on the sequencing facility that's performing the sequencing.
UW Biotech Center
-
When submitting your samples be sure to check the GLBRC funding source box on their form (https://www.biotech.wisc.edu/docs/default-source/dna-seq-documents/updated-illumina-submission-form-20140924.pdf?sfvrsn=4)
- Since this is a manual process at Biotech they recommend that when you receive the "your data is ready" email that you reply to that message reminding them that it is GLBRC data to help guarantee it is placed in the location that syncs with our servers nightly
- Note that the data is organized on our file system by the PI the sample was submitted under and the run number (e.g., /mnt/bigdata/seq_facilities/uw_biotech/Landick/GLBRC/run450/)
- If something is missing please email helpdesk@energy.wisc.edu with the details of the submission and we can contact Biotech to have the data synced
JGI
-
All JGI data should be automatically synced, no manual steps are required on your end. If something is missing please email helpdesk@energy.wisc.edu and we will investigate
- Note that the data is organized by organism on our file system (e.g., /mnt/bigdata/seq_facilities/jgi-globus/Zea_mays_P39_[ZeamaysP39]/)
Other facilities
Please email helpdesk@energy.wisc.edu; we will work with you and staff at the facility to determine the best possible way to automate the data movement.
