Changes to Academic Program Assessment Plans
At UW-Madison, each academic program is required to articulate and adopt an assessment plan. Conducting ongoing and systematic evaluation of student learning is an integral component of high-quality academic programs.
Assessment plans are established as part of the approval process for degrees, majors, and certificates. Revisions to assessment plans require approval of the academic unit (i.e. department) that owns the program and school or college approval. Schools and Colleges will notify the provost's office (Mo Bischof) and the Graduate School (Parmesh Ramanathan, graduate programs only) when changes to an assessment plan are approved.
An Assessment Plan Revisions Memo Template is available for Schools and Colleges. To use the template, fill in [bracketed] information, save the text on school/college letterhead, and send it to the recipients and the copy list indicated on the template.
Any changes to academic program learning outcomes require approval of the academic unit
