How do I map departmental drives on a macOS device?

Scope

This document provides guidance on mapping macOS devices to the 'W Drive' on the Campus Active Directory file server.

Resolution

  1. Open Finder and click on Go on the Apple Menu Bar and then select Connect to Server... and enter smb://svm-files.ad.wisc.edu/Departmental in the Connect to Server window; click Connect
    ,acOS New Drive 1
  2. Click on Connect
    macOS New Drive 2
  3. The W-Drive will now be connected and showing what the end user has access to
