The Wisconsin Alumni Association and UW-Extension Family Living Programs offers Grandparents University® each summer. This award-winning two-day workshop is a chance for children (recommended ages 7-14) and their grandparents to come together and learn from each other in a dynamic atmosphere at the UW campus.
Dates for summer 2019:
- Session I: July 11-12
- Session II: July 18-19
- Session III: July 25-26
You do not have to be a UW grad to attend.
Participants are given the chance to explore a “major” while participating in hands-on activities led by top UW faculty and staff. It’s a great way to share your love of learning with your grandchild while creating unforgettable memories. Learning experiences, age recommendations and physical activity levels vary by major. Choose a major that best fits your interests and capabilities. You will remain in the same major for the entire two-day program. Adults must accompany children to majors.
Ogg Hall, a university residence hall, serves as the home base for the program, but activities take place in classrooms all over campus. Bus transportation is provided to most program locations. Participants, however, will need to walk short distances to board buses and to reach the dining hall.
