Teach For America is the national corps of outstanding college graduates of all academic majors who commit two years to teach in low-income urban and rural communities and become life-long advocates to expand opportunity for children.

Corps members go above and beyond traditional expectations to impact the lives of children growing up in low-income communities. Beyond their two years, corps members take their insight and added commitment to assume leadership roles from inside education and from every other sector and to work toward the fundamental changes necessary to provide more equal opportunities for all children in our nation.

Training is provided; these are full-time, paid positions (full salary plus education award and loan forbearance).

See the above web site or contact Letters & Science Career Services (, 1305 Linden Dr Rm. 205,608-262-3921) for more information. Information is also available from the Morgridge Center for Public Service, 154 Red Gym, 608-263-2432.

Applicants must submit an online application by one of 5 deadlines (ranging from Aug 16 - Feb 20), and be available for phone and in-person interviews.
